For me, traveling is….
Passion!
I like traveling and exploring new places. When I was 23 years old, I traveled around Europe with my friend. We explored six countries for two weeks, such as Turkey, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and the UK. At that time, I do not have a lot of money. Thus we stayed in very cheap hotels and moved to each country by train. It was not a fancy trip, but a trip with money which I saved money from my part-time job was fantastic! I could get a lot of experience and see local peoples. Also, I enjoyed creating plans for our travel before we started our journey. I took a lot of time to search for our destinations. Since these experiences, I have been interested in knowing about new cultures and planning travel!!
Energy!
Before I came to Kamloops, I used to work as a sales and tour coordinator at a travel agency in Japan for three years. I could get a lot of experience there. Mostly, I could visit many domestic and international tourism sites as a tour conductor. Working at a travel agency was sometimes hard for me. However, even working and there was no free time for me, visiting new places gave me a lot of energy! Traveling is the source of my energy!!!
Never to be satisfied!
When I have been tourism sites as work, I felt that there are many things I do not know around the world. I have felt strongly that something is missing in the Japanese tourism industry compared to other countries. For example, Japan is behind in sustainable and eco-tourism fields. For example, many Japanese destinations have problems with over-tourism, and the Japanese have low awareness of plastic waste. Thus, I want to learn the situations and strategies to develop tourism industries in Canada. Also, I want to continue to visit many places with my five senses to learn about tourism!
